Meat and Mole Tlayuda

The Tlayuda is something similar to a Mexican Pizza with a corn tortilla crust. This crunchy dish can be piled high with anything you like! We're topping ours with delicious mole, cheese and topped with fresh avocado and tomato.

Ingredients

  • 4 (6-inch) Corn Tortillas
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1/3 cup DOÑA MARÍA® Mole Original
  • 1 pound flank steak cooked
  • 1/2 cup shredded Oaxaca Cheese
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame seeds
  • 2 avocados, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 450° F.
  2. Arrange tortillas on large rimmed baking sheet. Drizzle with oil.
  3. Bake 12 to 18 minutes or until crisp.
  4. In large stock pot over medium heat, combine vegetable stock and DOÑA MARÍA® Mole Original.
  5. Spread 2 tablespoons mole mix over baked tortillas.
  6. Add 4-5 strips of steak per tortilla.
  7. Top with cheese and sesame seeds.
  8. Serve with avocados and tomatoes.
