Mexican Picadillo

Our authentic Mexican Picadillo features the rich flavors from our HERDEZ® Salsa Ranchera. This dish works for lunch or dinner, served up with rice and tortillas!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1-2 serrano peppers, diced
  • 1 large russet potato, diced into 1/2” cubes
  • 1-pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 7-ounces HERDEZ® Salsa Ranchera Medium
  • 3/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Mexican oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro

SERVE

  • Rice
  • Tortillas

Directions

  1. In large saucepan, over medium-high heat, cook olive oil, onions, pepper and potatoes for 5 minutes.
  2. Add ground beef and garlic, cook additional 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in HERDEZ® Salsa Ranchera Medium, beef broth and seasonings. Simmer 20 minutes.
  4. Top with cilantro and serve with rice and tortillas.
